1.  Tai Chi Chuan

 

Objective :  Students will learn the first third of the 36 movement Yang Short Form.  This class is an introduction to Tai Chi Chuan and a means to strengthen legs and gain flexibility.

2.  Guided Movement Floor Sequence

 

Objective :  This class will allow the student to deepen awareness of his body, identify areas of stress and to gently promote a change in postural habits.   A pre-requisite of this class is that the person be able to sit on the floor without discomfort.

3.  Sitting Guided Movement Sequences 
 
This class will allow you to learn how to relax and remove points of strain and stress from the body.  This class is done sitting on chairs and is ideal for people with special needs.  
 
The emphasis of this class is on making you aware how you create unnecessary tension while performing specific movements while sitting.  As you realize how to perform movements without redundant tension you will start changing dynamic postural habits and improve your overall performance.  This in turn leads to a reduction of discomfort and pain.

 About Gilberto Barria V.:  certified by Ilana Rubenfeld as practitioner of Rubenfeld Synergy Method, in 1988. This method synergizes the Alexander Technique, the methods developed by Moshe Feldenkrais and Gestalt Process.  He has also completed 6 years of Tai Chi Chuan at the New York School of Tai Chi Chuan and two years of post-graduate studies with Ilana Rubenfeld.
